Trust and Kindness
We can experience trust and Kindness daily if we open ourselves to it.
I was relaxing in my recliner the other day when Henry decided to join me for some relaxation. This visit happens almost every day. Hal and I are so lucky to have such beautiful cats here. Our other cats, Jax and Willow, are affectionate in their unique ways, but Henry always seems to show love most consistently.
Whenever Henry joins me in the recliner, I know that I will be trapped with him for several hours. The first thing that Henry wants is to be rubbed and scratched as he purrs like a chainsaw. As this happens, he finds various positions to determine the most comfortable. All the while, he uses me as his lounge and his support system.
Henry wants plenty of attention before he settles down. Sometimes he will fake me out by getting comfortable for several minutes before he shifts again. Occasionally, Henry will use his claws to knead my legs, but that doesn’t last long, and it still hurts. I don’t mind as I talk to him and pull his paws away until he calms down.
Eventually, Henry finds his happy place, which traps me in the recliner until he decides to wake up.
Throughout this adventure, I am gratified and amazed at the Trust, Love, and Kindness that emanates from myself and Henry. A pet is a part of the family, and they know they are loved. Showing the Trust to go to sleep in my lap is incredible. Giving love to makes us both feel better.
The Kindness shown is beautiful. To show compassion to any living thing is a gateway to Kindness. The principle is the same with people. Showing genuine Kindness brings light into your life. Reaching out to others with Kindness also opens you to receiving Kindness from others, making life extraordinary.
