The Madness never stops
Why do we have to put up with things like this? The shooting happened on Saturday, and today is Monday, and the local law enforcement still hasn't caught the shooter. I'm not blaming the local law enforcement because I have driven that road myself, and it is a hilly and heavily wooded area where someone with survival skills could hide for days.
A different and terrifying approach
The local schools are closed because a madman is still on the loose. Although police have found the car and an AR-15 (again, why does anyone need that type of weapon), there is always the possibility that he has more with him or is hidden somewhere he planned to hide.
And why is the media already ignoring this story? Is it because it happened in Eastern Kentucky? The people there have just as much right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness as everyone else, but the media shows no interest in covering the story.
We have a severe problem in this country that our leaders constantly ignore as the number of victims continues to rise. No bloodshed is enough to change their hardened hearts, which is a shame. I believe this should disqualify them from holding public office because they clearly don't care about the general welfare of the citizens.
The real tragedy is that somewhere, some lunatic who needs mental health treatment will problem decide to try this particular terrorist attack on their own somewhere else in the country. The fact that I am saying that proves the point that the gun problem is out of control, and something needs to be done and done quickly.
My opinion may seem extreme to some people, but it is still my opinion, and I won't back down from it because all the "thoughts and prayers" and the "put God back into our lives" bullshit have done absolutely nothing to solve the problem.
I wish I wouldn't have to write about this anymore, but that only happens when the problem is controlled. There will always be some idiot who goes on a shooting spree, but some common-sense reform will drastically cut down the frequency of these events in the future.
We all need to learn to be Kind to one another and to help each other instead of ignoring people. We live in a society where self-isolation does nothing but harm us.
