My Music
I spend time every day listening to music. Music takes me away from the tumultuous world we all live in. I often find myself just taking a dose of Fuckitol and putting my headphones on to drown out the world around me.
I have several pairs of headphones, and I make sure they are all charged up for immediate use. I have a set of AirPods attached to my keychain in case I need them when I’m away from home.
My music taste includes almost all genres except country. Country music isn’t my thing. I love setting my iTunes library on a random play because, inevitably, a song will match somehow with what I’m seeing around me.
No matter how bad the world gets, I can always count on my music to get me through the most challenging times.
Even as I’m writing this, The B52s are rocking my world. I prefer having all the music from an artist, not just their greatest hits. I always find something new that I enjoy, which is always a pleasant surprise.
To give an example of my music, I’m grooving to “Unbreak My Heart” by Toni Braxton. I paused my music for a while when a friend called, and we spoke for about 15 minutes.
Hal is watching tv as I listen to “Love Will Come Through” by Travis, a Scottish band with a fiercely devoted underground following here in America. A band worth checking out if you like something on the mellow side.
Music keeps me calm and centered when things don’t materialize as planned. I hoped to get out today, but I don’t think Hal feels like going anywhere, so plans change, and I calmly listen to my wonderful music.
