Jordan The Cat
We have a new addition to our family: Jordan The Cat. We adopted him from the local shelter on Friday. He had an underdeveloped eye early in life but is absolutely adorable. Instead of the Three Stooges, we have the Fab Four here. Jordan The Cat seems happy, and we are delighted to have him. The Stooges will meet him in a few days; it is always best to introduce them slowly.
I didn't expect to find a new baby so quickly. A few weeks ago, Hal and I decided to expand our little family. Initially, we thought about adopting another black cat, and we probably would have, but Jordan The Cat had other plans.
When we went to the shelter, they opened his cage but said we couldn't handle him until Jordan The Cat walked right out over my arm and onto my back and shoulders. The staff were amazed because he had never done that before. I think that was when we knew he was going home with us. The adoption process was a breeze, and our vet always backs us up because she knows how well we care for The Stooges.
We had our first little incident with Jordan about two hours after we got him home. He got used to lying on the bed, but when I tried to lie down next to him, he freaked out as if "This is my bed now." Jordan's "cattitude" was that he was in charge now.
Jordan adjusted remarkably well to his new home. He doesn't hide; for a few days, he spends all his time exploring the bedroom and bathroom, which is his temporary home, until he finally meets The Stooges. Jordan is a complete ball of energy and shows no fear of anything. We have never had a cat adjust to their new home like Jordan.
One must wonder what he went through before we adopted him. His life couldn't have been easy. His underdeveloped eye wasn't removed until he arrived at the shelter earlier this year, but he is nearly three years old. Jordan is a small cat, meaning he was a survivor, but we are glad to give him a forever home.
