When person A says it is sunny outside, and person B says it is raining, look out the window and see for yourself. One is clearly wrong, and that is the end of the story. The wrong person doesn't deserve equal time for an invalid point of view. Facts outweigh opinions.

Arguing with QAnon believers is a colossal waste of time and energy due to several psychological and social factors. QAnon adherents typically exhibit cognitive solid dissonance, a psychological phenomenon where individuals experience discomfort when confronted with information that contradicts their deeply-held beliefs. They are unprepared to see the world in any terms except their own. They see any opposing viewpoints as personal attacks on them and their beliefs. QAnon believers are seemingly incapable of personal growth, except when they let themselves be drawn deeper into their QAnon rabbit holes and further away from reality.

Moreover, QAnon beliefs are deeply entrenched in a network of conspiracy theories that resist factual correction. Reasoning with them is pointless. They have insulated themselves from reality.

John Cleese on How “Stupid People Have No Idea How Stupid They Are” (a.k.a. the Dunning-Kruger Effect)
I often say that, if you want to vastly overestimate your own capabilities, you need only do one of two things: (a) get coked out of your mind, or (b) get behind the wheel of a car. But what if the problem runs deeper in humanity than that?

Double down on stupidity. This is the standard response when stupid people face the fact that they are indeed stupid. This circular vortex of an argument simply drags you down into the cesspool with them. I refuse to let that happen.

False equivalency is another argument stupid people try to use to justify their stupidity. There is no equivalence between facts and lunatic conspiracy theories.

I have better uses for my time than arguing with conspiracy theorists who will not listen to reason and who are basically unhappy people.

To quote Tom Petty, "I Won't Back Down" from stupid people, but arguing with them is a waste of time.

Be Kind to each other.
