I Can’t Stand Watching The News Anymore

The constant repetition is so annoying I always wonder what we're not being told as the washed-up wannabe actors try to emote until they wet themselves. To make things even worse, they repeat the same nonsense every hour. I believe that this endless repetition will eventually kill the 24-hour news networks. The new networks can devote only so much time to the insane ramblings before I turn them off altogether.

I consider myself an educated voter, meaning I don't subscribe to conspiracy theories or slavishly follow the statements of a convicted felon who still faces almost 100 more charges. I was raised to question authority figures and never to trust snake oil salespeople who claim to know all the answers. That is why I am not religious and don't follow trends when everyone else does. It also means that I don't believe in child-sacrifice rings running out of pizza restaurant basements when the place doesn't even have a basement. I don't believe in anyone called "Q" outside of the James Bond universe, mainly when the so-called inside source produces only bullshit conspiracy theories.

The media has failed to present real news because they are so fixated on endless pandering to nutjobs and their pet conspiracies. These lunatics are dangerous, but instead of calling them out on the danger they represent, the media pretends that there must be something like a rose buried in the pile of shit those people produce every time they open their mouths. Do we really have to be subjected to the idiotic statements that the anti-vaxxers talk about? Why does the media continue to treat the QAnon bullshit like it is legitimate? Does nearly 100 indictments really prove that someone is innocent? Not likely, but the media refuses to call out the liar because the red-hats will get upset. Why is the press so terrified of telling the truth?

What we have now is a sense of false equivalency. Because the sky is blue on a clear day is a fact, but some idiot claims it is green on a clear day; the press thinks that they must give equal time to the green sky idiots. Stupidity and Ignorance are not valid points of view for debate, let alone for a governing philosophy. Why do we even have to have this discussion?
