I remember when we lived around Washington, DC, and the annual joke was that if we made it through Presidents Day without a snowstorm, that winter was finally over.
I found my old Kindles yesterday. I thought about a new one, but luckily, I found both. I charged their batteries, and they worked fine. I have quite a collection of books online, and using my Kindle means I don't waste battery strength reading on my iPhone. As long as I keep on writing, I'm happy. I especially enjoy books about history. Hindsight is 20/20, but it still fascinates me.
I just started reading “The War that Ended Peace” by Margaret Macmillan, a detailed examination of how Europe stumbled into World War I. The book combines mainstream explanations with some detailed profiling of several of the principal actors and the circumstances that may have affected their judgment.
After finding my Kindles, things evolved into a hectic day for us. Hal is still preparing for his sister's visit, which starts Wednesday. It won't surprise me if Hal finds something else he decides to do. My only thing to do is make a trip to Costco or BJ’s tomorrow to get some necessities.
I ended my evening in the kitchen cooking chicken breasts, so there's something to eat here in case I need it.
Be kind to each other.
