04 February 2024
I took this picture. It is my property.

We enjoyed our Sunday here. Sleeping late is always a nice treat. We only made one trip to BJ’s for necessities like tissues and toilet paper. Tomorrow promises to be another beautiful day, and since it is Monday, most people will be at work or in school.

If we do go out tomorrow, I will check out eyeglass frames. My next appointment is in March, so if my prescription changes, I’ll get new glasses.

I wanted this daily journal post finished yesterday. She helped Hal tremendously while I was in the hospital three years ago. But last night was unexpectedly busy. First, we heard from a friend who is battling cancer and going in for surgery on Wednesday. We’ve known him for more than twenty years, and we’re wishing him the best, so everyone who reads this, please keep your fingers crossed. Cancer is a scary experience, so let him know he’s not fighting alone.

It wasn’t long after that phone call ended that we got a call from another friend I used to work with. She knows Hal as well as myself. We talked for several hours, and by the time we finished, it was after 2300.  because we had not heard from her in a while, we had to catch up on everything, and all three of our lives that had happened since our last phone call.

Naturally, how and I stayed up talking about all of our conversations from the evening, so it was late by the time we got to bed, and I didn’t have a chance to sit down and write the rest of the story last night so here I am Monday morning trying to catch up before I start today’s journal entry. It’s just a part of living, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world again. I hope that our friend battling cancer is going to do well, and we will send our thoughts to him. Other than that, it’s just a matter of what else we will do today. Right now, I’m sitting in the parking lot at H&R Block while Hal gets his taxes done. For some reason, I don’t have an appointment on the same day. I believe mine is on Friday, but I will have to check before then, at any rate. I hope everyone is doing well, and I wish everyone a great week ahead.

Be kind to each other other.
